Challenge

In 2023, Raising Cane's tapped Wellcom to design the interior and exterior of their flagship Times Square restaurant in a big, flashy way. But Raising Cane's brought more than just delicious chicken fingers–it also brought the potential for seasonal holiday displays.

Following the heels of our debut success, we created new holiday tableaus for their exterior windows. Our challenge was to create designs that could compete among the best Christmas windows in New York and cement Raising Cane's position in the Big Apple's eatery scene.

Solution

To stand out among the sensory overload of Times Square, we needed to make Raising Cane's a buzzy destination for tourists and locals alike. We featured Cane, the Golden Retriever mascot, in a series of vignettes enjoying the winter season in iconic city landmarks: Bryant Park, Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, and more. One idea I'm proud of that survived multiple creative reviews is my contribution of storybook-like rhymes that unified the vignettes into a cozy winter tale.

The social media buzz was clear: Raising Cane's wasn't just a destination to grab a delicious Box Combo and lemonade–it was a rising New York icon where people would stop by on their annual holiday window pilgrimage.
